Yours is a well known problem. One which I've also encountered and was unable to solve without doing a complete WinXP reintall.
I believe the problem is caused by a third party ASPI layer.

I'm using the default screen (mx2example.lcdc-cf) included with the LCDC software. I just downloaded the new Nero plugin. I copied the "nro.dll" file into the plugins directory. How do I use it now?? It does not show up as a plug in in the example screen.

I'm using the default screen for my MX-222.
All is working fine except for the weather. It will not refresh. How is that fixed?

Also, how do you change the time from "military" to "normal".

It's fixed. The problem was the (D: info). For some reason, at that point LCDC looked at the CDrom drive and went wacky. Anyway, I unchecked the D: info in the default screen builder and all is fine.

When I take the Matrox Orbital driver disk out of the CD drive the LCDC program stops responding and asks for LCDC.exe.
What's up with that ??

In your device manager under Ports (COM&LPT) and Universal Serial Bus Controllers, what does it have the unit listed as?

Well I've tried the so called "fix" here

but nothing works. I tried the USB v11 and v10 drivers. The first part installs fine, but the second part asks for "ftserui2.dll" which does not exist in either of v10 or v11.
Any suggestions?
