What are the physical dimentions of the LK204-24-USB, including thickness of the entire unit?

I am trying to determine how much clearence, specifically thickness, this unit will require when installed, with USB cable attached.

I am really only looking to effectively emulate the CD-ROM "activity" LEDs that are obscured by the aluminum bezels installed by the manufacturer.

The machine is a Voodoo Rage, and is actually quiet enough that I cannot actually hear the drives spin, etc... between the lack of seeing the lights ...

1) Is it possible/cheaper to get that full LCDC software package when buying the LK unit seperate from the MX package? I wouldnt need the Bezel that comes with those MX4s

2) Could anyone reccomend a software solution then that will allow me to track CD-ROM "activity" on this LCD? I have no quams ...

Researching an LCD project, looking for a large-ish LCD with USB connectivity, no need for any outputs or fan controll. I noticed the 4-line units I've found on this site, and the graphical units, are all D-sub 9 RS 232 controlled, and not shown offered with USB connection.
