I guess my LK204-25 (not PC) can't have a startup screen? I notice a lot of garbled characters appear when I first bootup the PC (must be random noise on the COM2 line)... it'd be nice to get something more spiffy. Did you bother to get replacement Polarizing film, or did you use what you stripped off the LCD? Polarizing film seems so expensive, and the 4 line display dimensions mean buying a huge sheet of the stuff to simply get the width I need. I understand the film is glued on, and you'd probably have a he...

Grabbed a 2N3055 on my way home from work -- man, it's huge -- and it only has two pins. Any suggestions?

I've got an LK204-25 and was wandering through a surplus store in Toronto and found a five button membrane keypad. Neat. It's got six connections... looks like one is the common GND, and the five are for the actual keys. There doesn't appear to be a common Ground connection on the 10 pin keypad conn...

Any sources for polarizing film so I can inverse My LK204-25? If not specifically in Toronto, anywhere on the Internet?

I built the third circuit, and it didn't put more than a few volts through to the fan. Not enough to even turn it. Attaching an LED to the connection showed that it was likely about 3-4 volts.
