I accidentally applied 15v to my LCD2041 (which doesn't like to than 5v). It got VERY bright and died before I could unplug.

This must be a common failure mode, and was wondering if there was any repair or salvage option? It is likely to be the LCD itself, or the driver that died ? If it's only one ...
