I wonder if its possible to attach a probe to the VFD and then the VFD show the temperature ???

If not, whats my options ??
Becouse I whant the VFD to show my water Temperature =)

And is it ready to plug in strait to the seriell port and then use LCDSmartie (for example) to show CPU speed and harddisk space ??

Does the VFD use the HD44780 chipset or ??
