I did not know that! Excellent Bernie, wow, Matrix just keeps getting cooler! Good to know that all I need it the upfront money, and then log in the order with you, and I can return the unaltered unit after testing. I may yet be getting some pics but this is a great alternative for only 5% and shipp...

you would hook the inverter power lines up the High Power GPOs...what revision number is on the back of your unit? Ver 1.0- you would need some motherboard pin header style plugs and splice them onto the intver power cables. The floppy power plug MUST be on the unit for it to drive 12V, only use GPO...

VFD brightness through paper?

I have one of the 2series LCDs...my next project has some, interesting requirements: Could soneone with a blue/white VFD place a sheet of notebook paper (easiest) or some, ahem, shoji screen paper (better for my plans) in front of it? I am interested in how clearly it comes through the paper. Obviou...

I suppose you might be able to set WinAmp to Input mode and histogram?

Would you need to have it in Record?

other audio plugins for LCDC

does anybody have a general audio source that will do visualizations?

Say I am playing FarCry, and I wanted the Equalizer histogram to show while I was gaming? Obviously Winamp won't do that will it?

If so, I guess I should just play with WinAmp more.

Thanks for all ideas.

leave it to Miles to remind us of MO's latest products! I did forget about the MX5s, they are sweet, Gruntville did a review of them Johhny.

Have you considered which ones come in USB and which ones don't?

I recall that most if not all of the VFDs are still serial interface only? Also true of the Graphical LCD and VFDs if I recall.

Do you want to run external seriel to hook them up?

yep, but you hardly want to look my "test" tangle of wires in my acrylic case!!

I have chrome chaseways in the works, a 120mm Radiator with BlueUV shroud ordered, and lots of dremel work to do.

I will be posting when Gluttony is done... :)

sure thing...at $15/relay, they aren't cheap, but they sure do the job nicely. This is really a good forum full of technically specific people, good support, and I am amazed at the short learning curve on the MO and in LCDC. After I scrounged the right plugs, I spliced in my inverters, set the GPO d...

I was doing some searches on this very question over the weekend. What I discovered was: Most inverters note an input voltage and output current exactly or close to what you show, however, remember an inverter is trading of DC input to output high voltage AC. As I searched more and more, i finally f...

you are exactly right, I have a Rev 1.0 that used the "motherboard" pin header style. So, I went into my handy-dandy junkpile of stuff, and found a couple old AT Case faceplates with the Reset and Power wires, ripped them out, and hooked them up. I am running all 3 dual inverters, one each...

I wish I knew more about it to help you...I would guess that Miles or someone from Matrix might check in, or it might be Monday.

Good luck, keep checking in, they do respond.

to follow up, I was trying to hook up to my MX221 GPOs for lighting, and thought (due to another thread here) that 3pin fan plugs would work, but they don't! The GPOs on the MX221 are very close together vertically, and 3pin fan plug simply won't fit between them...what have other people here used o...

Cool, that is exactly what I needed to know. A mechanical Relay certainly isn't up to the job, and a lot of reed relays didn't seem appropriate. I will probably leave my relay on the Motherboard HardDrive LED pins, and just tinker with using the High Power GPOs to switch some CCFls with net traffic ...

that's my point...will the fast switching of the GPO harm the unit? My relay can handle it, and does. I'm just not sure if the Hardware in the MO was designed to do that type of isoelectric switching at those speeds. For instance, are the transistors in the MO isoelectric? I think I have the term ri...
