Pay attention to current drain. If there are problems, that's where they will come from. Take your fan/rheo rig, hook it up to your PSU directly and use a meter to follow the current draw as you sweep the reheo across the range (consider using a fixed resistor and a rheo of about equal value in seri...

Dude, that Atari tribute case you posted in the gallery is insanely great. That is first class work all the way.

That item that BR linked is great, but maybe overkill (25A!) for your needs. I'd suggest having a look for an optocoupled triac, then using it to switch a triac that's selected to match the load characteristics. You'll save a buncha money, which you can spend on fuses. The site that I think ex...

Re switches, just wait till you see what's up my sleeve.
Did you see GOO's Lian-Li mod? It didn't occur to me until youstarted talking about the acrylic bits, but I bet you get a lot of idears from his article.

dipan, you may want to consider using blanks that came with your case and making your own (it will take two). The keypad interface is pretty simple to work with, and you could use the switches of your choice in the number and layout of your choice, plus coordinate with your color scheme. (Vinyl dye ...

linear - Would it be possible to create a circuit using a lead from my power supply and a transister hooked to the GPO so that it would only use 1 GPO per fan? Both - Thanks for the info, I'd still like to know the thickness. It says in the manual, but the picture is too small for me to make out th...

I think the circuit is fine, but your grounds are referenced to different points. the reason there's just one wire into the base from the GPO is because the GPOs are sharing the display's ground connection. I bet if you tied your wall wart's ground to the PSU ground what you have will work (I'll tru...

I always use salvaged 1x2 connectors from AT cases that have gone to the boneyard. I don't know of a good source for them new though (probably because I've not been especially motivated to look). Head to your local PC shop and see what you can talk them out of. Now if you're willing to pay too much....

Well, if you focus on the advantages of the MO USB displays, there are several (some of which don't generalize to all USB devices). - ease of connection. No modified cables are required with the USB models, and only one USB connection is required to operate the display (although it supports a separa...
