Matrix Orbital does offer a one year warranty on all its products. Can you power the unit without attaching the serial cable and tell me if the start up screen has acceptable contrast. Once you attach the serial cable does the contrast change?

Is there a backlight when power is applied to the unit? If there is can you turn the backlight on/off using AlphaDemo?

It sounds like it is time to ship it back to Matrix Orbital for further evaluation! You can contact me at myero@matrixorbital.com and we will go through the RMA procedure.

The same procedure is applied as if it were a 5 Volt unit. But be very careful to only apply 5 Volts via DB9 because the voltage does not pass through the voltage regulator. (MUST NOT USE 12 VOLTS!)

What software did you use to communicate with the unit or did you use Hyperterminal?

YES, YES, and YES! Seriously though... The PC is the only unit that uses an unmodified floppy power cable and the GPO bugs have been fixed. As for new features; the most used would probably be variable brightness control, and for the more faint at heart the TTL, RS232 select along with the memory ch...

My suggestion would be to buy an expansion slot and use one of our 48" Serial Cables which can be seen on this link: http://www.matrixorbital.com/accessories.htm

The pins facing towards the inside of the PCB are the p'tve leads on the GPO's for the LK202-25

Can you perform a manual override: 1. Turn off the display 2. Put a jumper on pins 5 and 6 of the keypad connector (C5 and R1). 3. Power up the display. The baud rate is now set to 19,200. 4. If you order the LK204-25PC display you will not need to order a power cable. An unmodified floppy drive power cable does the trick! Enjoy!!
