A quick question about power

Post by AW3K »

Hi all

i havn't posed in here for a while so i hope someone can help me?

My psu in my htpc is a 55W , which of these would be the best?

LK202-25-WB

or

LK202-25-WB - V

can the base model be connected directly to the psu without using an altered power cable?

Thanks

Andrew

There won't be any problem powering both of the displays with your power supply. If you wanted a display that draws a little less power, then the LK202-25-WB is better.

Both units need to use a modified floppy power. You CANNOT plug any of them in with an unmodified floppy power cable. The LK202-25-WB uses a 5V modified floppy cable, and the LK202-25-WB-V uses a 12V cable. Section 2.2.1 will give you more detail on modifying the cable. The link to the manual is at http://www.matrixorbital.com/manuals/LK202-25_04.pdf. You can also purchase the modified cables at http://www.matrixorbital.com/pages/acce ... =2&CatID=5.

For a computer application, we recomend using the -V option, if your power supply spikes a little, the voltage regulator will protect the display. The most recomended display, would be the USB version, and the best thing about it will be its ability to control fans in your computer. This will make your system as quite as possible and only turn on fans if the computer gets too hot. You can also purchase temp probes to see temps in different places in your case and have a digital baybus that control all the cooling and making your HTPC as quite as possible, just something to think about.
