Turn fans on as soon as my MX212 gains power?

Post by Daneel »

Is there a command string i can send to my MX212 to make it turn GPO 1 and 2 onto 100% (or full power) as soon as the display turns on (ie, no communication with the pc, just plug it in and *whiirrrr* fans start)?

I've seen the string on the net somewhere but after 4 hours of googling, i can't find the sucker.

thanks,
Dan

Are you trying to do this on LCDC?

Well, i can do it however works but the string i saw was supposed to be sent to the LCD with LCDC. if i remember correctly, you can send the display raw strings by using the test display screen..

Actually, by default, the fans should be on 100% when the display turns on if you have an unmodified floppy power cable hooked up to the display.

Doesn't happen, unfortunately (as in, fans don't auto-spin-up)..

You can change the default GPO to turn on by using boot edit. Boot edit shoud be on the cd that came with your display. If you cannot find it, email me at support@matrixorbital.com, and I will send you a copy.

Another alternative to perform this function via LCDC is seen at this link: http://www.lcdforums.com/forums/viewtop ... +frequency

I hope this works for you! If you have any further questions or concerns, feel free to post! :)
