MX 212 USB HELP

Post by ishiii »

Hi guys;
I just got an mx212 usb and I love it, it took some fiddeling but i finally got it working almost the way I want.

Im using the gpos to control the fans, is there anyway to have them power up and down instantly, rather then slowly like they do?
When the temp reaches X degrees want the fan to go from zero to 50%, what i have now is it going from zero to 100% slowly, and then when it comes back down it also does it slowly. I want it to be instant.
If someone can asnwer this PLEASE do

Secondly,
can i use a 7 volt mod cable after the GPO, and then a Y splitter? for 80mm fans

So GPO-7 volt cable mod - Y splitter?

Thanks guys, i look forward to responses to this

Hi ishii,

Can you test out the display with uproject. Uproject can be downloaded at http://www.matrixorbital.ca/software/so ... /uproject/ On the main tab of uproject, you can check on and off the GPOs. The fans should instantly turn off and on when you check the boxes. Ther shouldn't be slowly turning on like that. I want to eliminate any problem the software is having or not. Can you let me know if the fan turns on instantly or not?

You are able to use a 7V cable for the gpo, but your fans won't spin at it's full potential. You will be able to split the cable too, but as indicated the fan won't spin slower. If you are comfortable with the fan spinning at that speed, then there are no worries.

Hi Tom thank you for the response, I download uproject, installed it. Closed LCDC and then opend uproject, I went to the main tab and put a check beside gpo1,2 and 3
Nothing seemed to happen.
I started LCDC and then checked beside the gpos, again nothing happened.

The setting on my gpo's are as follows

report rpm; checked
divider:1
advanced control: Auto temperature based digibus
Variable:mbm5 cpu temp
target temp:45
minimum PMW:20
start stop setting:45

So when i boot the pc or stop lcdc the fans are at 45%.
When lcdc starts the fans slowly, like 1% per second, go from 45% to 20%.
When the temp goes over 45 the fans slowly, again 1% per second ish, go from 20% to 100%, and when the temp drops below 45 they slowly go back to there 20% minimum setting.

Iv played around with all the digibus setting allot, am I missing something?

Thanks in advance, and WTG on the good support.

Hi ishii,

There is a jumper settings below the fan headers and above the unmodified floppy power connector. Is the jumper on the two left pins or two right pins?

They were originally on the 2 left pins? Does the fan spin faster on the two left pins? If the LEDs on the fans pulse too quickly, you can change that using bootedit. It will be under GPO->Freq. Bootedit is in the ecd that came with your display.
