desoldering the LCD from the control board

Post by Dgephri »

not sure I had ever seen anybody try this, but I want to desolder the LCD on my MX6 series from the control board.

The reason is that I want a very thin installation for the LCD, and will run leads back to the controller board to be located nearby.

Would something like 10 inches 26ga wire be enough, or would the impedence/current/voltage need something thicker to provide the MX6 PLED with enough to run separated from the control board?

Hello Dgephri,

26ga stranded wire should be good. I can not guarantee performance over 10 inch wires like how you are thinking of doing it, but there should be no problem powering the display. Communication might get iffy.

Please let me know how it turns out.
