We have a 4 or 5 of the LK204-25 displays, that work fine for a few hours and then go dark or blank. I think the backlight is timing out and turning off. I have tried send "Display Off/On" & "Set Brightness 255" & "Set Contrast 128", but none of these commands seem to turn the display back on. Cycling power to the display always works.
There seems to be some kind of serial port command(s) that turn the display back on, but I have yet to narrow it down to what command(s).
I understand you've got a display that seem to go dark or blank after a few hours of operation. You mentioned that the regular commands don't work in this state, can you let me know if you are able to communicate with the display at all when it is in this state. Try reading the module, version, or just getting a few key presses.
The commands mentioned will usually work, unless the display had been locked, or is not operating properly.
If you have any further questions or concerns, please let me know, otherwise I'll look for your findings.
