I just bought the MX212 blue inverted USB Display and have had no problems with it at all its a great piece of kit but before attempting to use the GPO s i thought id seek advice ok.
I have a blue auto flashing 5v LED (im not sure what the current use is)
How do i fix it to the low power GPO to signal incoming e-mail!!
I would first assume that since it knows how to blink, it also probably limits it's own current. I would further assume that 20mA would be enough to drive it.
A lot of assuming, but if true, then you could probably replace one of the GPO output resistors with a piece of wire and hook up the blinking LED. Be warned, however, that trying to dump more than 20mA into the GPO pin may (will) blow up the processor.
If that made any sense, then decide for yourself if you want to go there - you could also use the GPO to drive a separate transistor. If this sounds like Greek, then maybe hook up a non-blinky one and make the software do the blinking.
