I am putting a GLK24064-25-VPT-E in a car and want to be able to control the backlight brightness. Is there a mod availble to allow me to add an adjustment knob of some sort?

Hello...
As of right now we don't offer software controlled backlight intensity on the GLK24064-25. However if you really wanted to, you can solder a pot to control current in the backlight cct. Keep in mind, if attempted this may void your warranty. From the factory our display, with the backlight on, draws 260mA. You would not want to go much higher than that without possibly causing damage to the backlight circuit.

It is bright enough as is. I just want to be able to tone it down got low light. Is there a schmatic somewhere? Or where would I need to place the pot? I will wait till the unit is good and burned in, by then, it should be in the car and suffering some temprature changes. Till then, I can put a filterover the display at night. -Chuck-

probably the best and easiest thing to do is place a pot where the backlight brightnes resistors are (bottom right, 2 10ohm). You will probably want a pot between 10ohm and 50ohm and then play with it. We cannot give you schematics, but you shoul dbe able to figure out most things just by looking at the PCB.

I assume you mean the two surface mount resistors marked with a red circle in the picture below. -Chuck-
