Guys, I'm not sure if this has been done in the past so I thought I would ask.
I'm trying to hook up a cold cathode inverter to my LK204-25PC which has those high power GPOs. The inverter doesn't consume more than 300mA of current from what I've read (though again, I'm still trying to find more on that) and I was wondering if this thing should work.
I've seen people hooking up regular neons directly to the GPOs of this LCD without problems but haven't found a thing on cold cathodes.
Anyways, I've got something real nice coming up so if you can let me know that would be great.

Yep, the GPOs are rated to 750 mA, so you have a comfortable margin of safety there with your plan. I believe that the FET they use will tolerate over an Amp, but the "official" rating is 750 mA.

That sounds like good news. I'm just not sure about the rating that I've found for the cold cathodes inverter. 300mA seems to be a hell of a lot low for those lights.
I can say that I'd feel soo much better if someone else done it before.
But again, if the plan works ok, I'm gonna have some kicker mod there.

Anyways, let me know if you've seen someone that's done this in the past... I'd feel soooo much comfortable doing this.

I'm not worried about it, but perhaps an ammeter would build your confidence somewhat. 300 mA sounds pretty typical to me.
