GPO Temp problems

not sure if this is a problem with LCDC - though I think its probably a hardware problem.
I use my LK 204-25PC MO to control my fans using LCDC
sometimes when I run extremely CPU taxing programs, the temp rises and the GPOs turn off, when they should be staying on furthermore LCDC still thinks they are on (as i have the GPO status set up as a screen.
has anyone else had any similar problems with their units?
also I have the problem (well its not a problem - its actually turned out to be quite useful) that GPO3 is on by default at startup. once LCDC has loaded up it works fine - just that I thought the default setting for the GPO's is off.
my LCDC is brand new so I hope its not damaged...
