I knew how to do this once but now I forget. I have a LK202-24-USB-WB from an older MX (pre fan controllers..).
How do you change what is displayed when the system is booting? Is there a way to change it back to the default?

What software are you using to communicate with the unit?

I'm using the latest LCDC - but I thought there was a way to change the bootscreen regardless of the software - through the unit itself. At least in terms of it being changed and stored in the firmware.
I just want to change what the unit displays when the entire computer is booted up.

You don't need a specific piece of software to change the startup screen however the best way to this is to send the unit 254 66 [40 characters] in decimal. You can do this easily in LCDC. When testing the display and in the text box you enter the following:
[##254][##64][Matrix Orbital]

I was having the same difficulty but saw that in version 1.05.27 of LCDC there's a little green box/button on the bottom right hand corner when you're in screen builder mode. Highlight a screen and click on that button and that becomes your new startup screen.
Other than that I don't know what else to do
