How do I change the screen that appears when the display is first powered up?

FYI: I have a VK202-25 VFD display connected via com1 running lcdc on a windows xp pro machine.

I dunno if there is a way to do that, but what I do is when my computer starts up I set it up so LCDC starts up and it automatically opens a configuration with my own splash screen... I dunno if that helps you.... lol but its also not that important for me to change the very first screen I see when the BIOS is still doing its POST.

http://www.lcdc.cc/help/screenbuilder.htm#Screens

build a screen then set an event as the welcome screen? (me thinks).

If your talking about the MO splash screen, i'm not sure if you can remove this? :eyebrow: its set as a config .lcdc file somewhere.

But MO rocks so you have to give the company some props! i just keep mine as it is! like having the mercedes bonnet badge! denotes quality!

There are two ways you can change the welcome screen.

1) We can send you a software package that will change the start up screen for you.
2) You can send raw commands via LCDC as follows in the configure/test section: [##254][##64][40characters]

**The 40 characters are of course what you want as a startup!!! :D

Thanks!!! :D

That did it...luckily i had lcdc installed. Whats the other program that you would suggest for programming the startup screen (The Matrix Orbital Test Program?)

BTW, that test program is great

Thanks!!! You can also use Bootedit.exe to accomplish it. You should be able to get it off your ECD depending on how old your computer operating system is.

I'm glad thing are working out for you. :D
