GLK24064-25 Communication

It appears that I'm no longer communicating at the same baud rate of the LCD Display. Using mogd.exe and LCD Tester, I've stepped through each baud rate, changed computers, performed the Manual Override using pins 5 & 6 of the keypad connector, changed RS-232 cable, without any luck. The display will start displaying the bootup bitmap (ref 1) and with each command sent only garbage appears. Is there another step I can perform before saying the RS-232 is bad in the unit?

Did you leave the jumper on when you did the manual overide?

No, the jumper was removed with power only. After that an attempt to communicate at 19200 baud was made.

Can you try to communicate with the power on and the jumper left on. Then communicate at 19200?

That doesn't work either. The LCD currently isn't mounted into our hardware and we may have had an ESD problem.

Tom,

We just found a discrepancy between the Index.htm manual for the glk240625 and the glk24064-25.pdf manual. The pdf discribes the Manual Override and shows where the actual over ride pins are. The htm manual shows the over ride as pins 5 & 6 of the Keypad pins (this doesn't work). Usine the Manual Over ride pins described in the PDF fixed my problem.

Thanks for your help

I am glad it worked for you. The pdf manual and the index.htm is in the process of updating. We apologize for the inconvenience. :)
