Am i correct in assuming that 1 fan header can support several fans as long as they dont exceed 1000ma total? I have 5 120mm fans in my case along with 4 80mm fans, will the mx5 be able to handle them? I plan on using several y-splitters to consolidate the connectors id use.

It will depend on the power rating of each fan. Just don't exceed the maximum power rating..

enermax says the fans have a rated current of .20A max and a power input 2.4watts. Does that mean they are goin to draw .20A from the header, so i can connect 5 to one header if i really wanted to push the limit?

cool, guess i wont need my sunbeam rheobus anymore :D

What does the power input rating of 2.4w have to do with the fans i have? Does that mean the fan header has to supply 2.4w per fan? how many watts does each header put out?

Sorry for all the questions

By using the equation P=IV you get V=2.4W/.2A = 12V. This means each fan needs to run at 12V and .2A. Each header outputs a maximum of P=12V*1000mA=12W. :D
