new MX2, with disk, with codekey

I just purchased another MX2 series, this one with the colors I had originally wanted for my PC.

I wanted to be sure if I should uninstall the LCDC that came with my original one, then change out to the new MX2, then reinstall LCDC using the new keycode? Is this necessary or not?

I would prefer to just change out the hardware and redetect the display.

They are both Rev1.0 MX2 series, so none of the connections are any different.

No you don't need to do that. If your plannign on selling the old MX2 then put the new code with that to increase it's value IMO

I have a use for both of them, but wasn't sure if the codekey was linked to the bios, or eeprom, or something like that.

TY.

If they are both on the same machine then don't bother. If they are on seperate machines then it should be one license per machine. But they are not tied toa pc/lcd/vfd.

yeah, it worked out just perfectly, so I will save the other LCDC disk and key for my next machine when I install the old blue/grey LCD.

That Blue/white LCD really looks, and reads, much much better.

Thanks guys.
