Display + Keypad which works under unix

Post by gein »

Im looking for a display and a keypad which works under FreeBSD. The latest MatrixOrbital displays seems to use USB which gets me into problems I guess? It would be easier with a Parallel connector (LPT port). So, does MatrixOrbital have any such display + keypads left? Or is it possible for me to run on USB instead? Is there drivers / libraries for this?

Some help and ideas would be great! :)

We only have serial interface displays, so you can only get a display that can be communicated by the serial com port or USB port. We definitely sell displays that have keypad support. We also sell displays with keypads in one kit.

You can run a display with the USB driver on linux. You would need to modify the USB driver though. There have been some people that have gotten the modified driver to work. You can go to http://www.lcdforums.com/forums/viewtopic.php?t=1050 for details on how to do this.

If you have any questions about sales, you can contact our excellent sales staff at info@matrixorbital.com .
