Does the com port show up on the device manager under the Ports (Com & LPT) branch. What exactly did you do with your temperature probe?

Sorry for the little delay.
I was trying to test a temp prob as I removed it to place it into a lower point the screen went down, never to come up again...
The com port refuses to be Identified.(com3). Tried most things I can think of to reinstall even swapped the USB cable but no result

Gosh gone again... It keeps dropping out of XP ive down loaded the tester programme and noticed on the back it refers to ? LK204-24-USB, AND THE STICKER over a chip just north of the keypad extension refer's to V1.2 thought I had a VFD MX522 ???. Anyway I didnt touch anything this time I was just into loading the tester and its gone again..

The sticker on the display on the back is the firmware version. The board will say LK204-24-USB because they are both similar boards, except the VFD will have a few less components.
Try starting from scratch by removing the drivers from the registry and device manager. The link for how to uninstall the drivers from the registry is at

I hope this works for you.

I recommend using uproject instead of LCD tester. Uproject should be included in the ecd that came with your display. If you cannot find it, email me at
support@matrixorbital.com, and I will send you a copy.
