LK204-25V Rev 1.23

Wow, I sure havn't been on this forum since I got this LCD from the bit-tech special years ago..
Anyway, I've pulled my LK204-25V out of one of my systems and plan on using it externally to my linux firewall..
So my question is, even though the unit has the wide voltage option will it run off the 5v rail?
If not, I will likely use a wall wart.. Would 9v 200ma adapter suffice?

Thats the box I'm using for my firewall.. I'd like to mod it in there, but my dremel skills are lacking..

Well, I wired it up with that wall wart. 9 volt dc, 200ma.
Works fine, but I'm noticing a flicker on the display. The display, not the backlight..
The only way I can describe it is it reminds me of a monitor with a noticible refresh rate. You can see it scanning..
I assume it's the wall wart since it never did that running off the 12 rail in my old PC..
Question is though, is it safe? If I ignore it will I fry my LCD?

It looks as though the flickering is coming from the wall wart. The display will be fine, but the wall wart is being pushed to the limit. Can you try a wall wart that has a higher current rating?

Yup, I had a feeling thats what it was. Now that I know I'll buy one to use.. I just stole this one from a old broken cordless phone..
