LK204-24-usb backlight not staying on.....

I recently purchased a LK204-24-usb display and haven't really had any problems with it except for the fact that the display backlight seems to go off on it's own. I tried it without the software running and it ran fine with the backlight on for 2 days straight. With LCDC on, it shuts of at random intervals but never stays on. Is there anything wrong with my display??? Please help!

Hi Scotty,
Thank you for posting.
I think there may be something wrong with the software. Since you had left it running for 2 days, without it flickering. Can you try the display on another PC, and see if you can try to recreate the problem?

Thanks for the reply. It appears that my backlight problem was the fact that I hadn't de-soldered the jumper on the PCB when you use external power. Seems to be fine now. Since I've done that the backlight problem seems to have gone away. The only other problem I have is that sometimes I have to close and restart LCDC because the 2nd line of the display will start showing random or no characters at all. Once restarted (usually just stop and start the display), it works fine. The strange thing is..... the virtual display is always fine.

How often does these random characters come up?

Well, I rebooted this morning. And now there's no second line showing. Sometimes, I just get weird characters.

Are you using custom characters?

Well, other than some animated arrows, which come with the LCDC software by default, nothing is custom.

I have an mx222. Posted this on LCDC forums with no reply yet, but about once or twice a week, I find that my "screens" have no 2nd line displaying! The 'fix' is too simply stop lcdc, and then 'start', and the "line 2" comes back...sounds like a software problem, but who knows....anyone else having a problem where the 2nd line on the display (periodically) appears blank?

Same here. I'm also having the problem with the display turning off on its own. I have to shut down lcdc in order to get it to turn back on.
