Trouble communicating with a VK204-24-USB

Hi,

I have a VK204-24-USB installed but can't seem to get it to work. It is powered and displays the default screen, but I can't change the display. I have installed the 1.4 usb drivers and it gives me a com3, but lcdc won't detect the display . I have also tried using HyperTerminal to talk directly to com3, but that doesn't work either. I have tried several usb ports and cables as well.

Any suggestions?

Thanks.

Hi Wiley,

Thank you for posting at the forums.

Can you see the Matrix Orbital driver properly installed under the "Universal Serial Bus controllers" section in device manager?

Tom,

Yes, I see "Matrix Orbital MX2/MX3/MX6 USB Driver" under "Universal Serial Bus controllers." Windows seems to think the device is working properly.

Thanks,
Wiley

Hi Wiley,

Can you test the display out on another PC, to eliminate any possibilities that it is your PC. Also you can try testing the display out with uproject.exe . It should be in the ecd that came with your display under downloads.

Let me know if it works on another PC.

Best Regards,

Tom,

I can't seem to find uproject.exe on my cd. I have eCD 3.0. Is this file available for download? I will also try to get it working on another pc.

Thanks,
Wiley

Tom,

When running the Display Tuner R. v0.7 application, the Autodetect button on the Com Setup tab never detects anything. If I manually set it to COM3 with a baudrate of 19200 and click Open COM the Connection Status lights up blue.

On the main tab if I click on the Clear Display or type in some text and click Send Text nothing happens. The display still shows the startup screen.

The keypad however does seem to work. When I press the buttons the hex values show up in the text area on the right.

Any ideas?

Thanks,
Wiley
