Need new controller?

Hi,
I have an LED sign made by namco. It is a 16X96 matrix and the original controller is a sed1351. I have been trying to locate programming instructions to no avail and was wondering if one of your controllers might be capable of driving this panel. The LED panel has a 20 pin connector that connects to it's existing controller. From what I can tell, it uses an 8 bit parallel bus for data and there are 13 of the 20 pins used. The display currently works but scrolls some pre-programmed graphics and text. I would like to be able to interface the panel to a PC to display various messages and graphics. Here are links to a couple of pictures of the panel and the existing controller. The bottom 3 links are to my display as it is working right now just for reference. As you will see, the controller board has a programming connector but I have no information of the protocol used nor the commands to send. While the prog connector is a ps2 style connector it uses 4 wires which go to a custom IC and uses an unknown protocol.

If anyone has an idea on what type of controller I can use to replace the existing one or has any information on programming the existing controller, please let me know.
Thanks
