Tried to re-install one of these displays after having to re-install windows but will not install drivers properly or even start device. Followed setup but just shows in device manager asMatrix Orbital MX2xx USB Driver with a yellow circle with exclamation point in it. I have SP2 and XP Pro. Also nothing has been altered hardware wise and it is the same in another machine. In other words PC recognizes unot but will not light up or use it in anyway.

Please can you help??

Hi senor_fulff,

Thank you for posting on the forum.

Does the device manger have any other conflicts other than the one driver? Some other devices will conflict with the driver or other corrupt drivers will do the same thing.

no. no other conflicts at all. i t worked before and doesn't now. it occasionally lights up but only once every blue moon. i've tried all the obvious things but it just says error type 10 (device cannot start). Even tried new drivers but no joy.

Can you check whether the following registry entries have been made?

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Services\FTSER2K
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Services\FTDIBUS

If they were made, can you please delete them, remove the drivers, and reboot. Try to reinstall the drivers afterwards.

Best Regards,

Does your display light up when you plug in an unmodified floppy power cable?

Every usb unit has an input to power up the fan headers. The picture below describes the the connector for the floppy power cable input as High Power Input.

Yippee!!!

That got it working but it is far too bright now. Will try fiddling with LCDC to get it working right.

Thank-you for your time it is very much appreciated!!
