LCD4041 Backlight question

I have a LCD4041 / LK404-AT REV 1.10 I have been using it for a quite a while powering through the 4 pin connector. Recently I decided I wanted to only use one cable so I made up a modified serial cable for it. I soldered the point by the serial connector for powering it through there. The display powers up and works fine, but no backlight. Is there another place I need to solder or unsolder? I see 2 points labeled that could possibly be something, they are labeled "LC5" and "LC12". The backlight still works if I power it through the 4 pin connector. Thanks in advance.

Hi aronmartin,
Sorry for the delay, I had to fish look for a display, since it's so old. Try desoldering LC5 and soldering LC12 for the backlight to turn on when power via the DB-9 connector.
If you have anymore questions or concerns, please feel free to post them.
