Driving LED's from an advanced GPO?

I want to drive the disk I/O LCD in my case from an advanced GPO. (The low power GPO's are already in use.) I am powering the VK204-24-USB board from a floppy disk power cable, and have set the GPO's to high power (12v).

Would a 240 ohm, 1 watt, resistor in series between the middle pin (+12v switched) of the advanced GPO plug and the positive lead of the LED -- with the negative lead of the LED returned directly to the right hand pin (GND) of the advanced GPO plug -- be the correct wiring?

240 ohm
+ 12v 1 watt LED GND

Thanks,

Dave S.

Hi stonehdl,

Thank you for posting on the forum.

You must have a really bright LED to connect it to the high power gpo. You have the correct wiring for the led.

If you have anymore questions or concerns, please feel free to post them.
