Thermal Probe replacement wires

I was wondering if it was possible to replace the wires on the DAllas 1 Wire thermal probes with different wire - I have a silver theme to my case and have used silver plastic coated wires internally. Will the thermal probes still work?

The probes should have no problem communicating on new wire, my only suggestion would be to try to make sure that the new wire is a similar gauge (thickness). Another solution to actually changing the wire would be to get some sleeving for the wires.
FrozenCPU sells sleeving that you could just place over the wires instead of changing them.
