hey Jon, Nick...

Im gonna buy the MX620 - along with a "KEYPAD 4X4" and those 3 cool LEDS...

I need some information though...

-That keypad - is it made in a hard material or is it all flappy? - if its hard - is there any way u could get me a flappy one?
-I want the display to have bright blue characters (same background) - like the LEDs - what do I do?
-Im already preparing a speakermod - to hold the vfd display :D - and im planning to set the controls (that 4x4 keypad) some distance from the display (not very far though)... The question - can I buy an extension-cord of a kind?

I hope to hear from u guys soon as I hope to place my order soon

The keypad is semi-flexible plastic with an adhesive backing. It's thinner than an audio cd and not as stiff but the problem is that if you over bend it you can break the circuit on the back.

We don't have any extenders for that 4x4 keypad, but maybe somebody has a suggestion on the best way to extend it? I'm all out of ideas right now.

If you wanted to create your own custom keypad for your project it wouldn't be difficult. Our display's use a matrix style keypad, the particular display you are looking at has 6 Column pins and 4 Row pins on the back. When a column pin is shorted with a row pin the display will interpret that as a keypress.

So if you wanted to create a single button for the display all you would need is to connect a wire to a column pin and another wire to a row pin, and when the two wires connect together the display would generate a keypress.

hmmm... I dunno if im any good at velding or working with circuitboards for that matter... I think I can work it out another way though - so no worries...

What abourt the display colors? - can a filter be applyed to give it the right colors?
