Sorry, but a friend of mine gave me his old case with a MO lcd. Because he left it unused for so long he forgot the model and no longer has anysoftware for it. This particular unit is 20 char x 4 lines and connects via the serial port. I downloaded uProject, but it doesn't seem to detect the unit. However, when it does run run the autodetect, the lcd outputs strange characters (X with a line over it, a right arrow, and another character i don't recognize). any clue?

Hello Simpsonrb,
Thank you for posting on the forum.
If you can post a picture of your module, it'll be the fastest way to find out which one it is.
When you try and connect to the module using uProject's autodetect, try different baud rates.

Thanks for the reply.
I ran through all the baud rates on either COM in uProject and it never found the display with the auto detect. I was able to simply set it to the right com port and baud rate and it connected.
When I took pictures of the unit i noticed the model number myself finally. Could you tell me if there any specific drivers or utilities I should have for it. I would like to know how to set it up in order to display various sorts of system information.

Hello Simpsonrb,
Glad that you are able to connect to your LCD2041 module. Here's the link to the manual:

Also, I assume that you do not have LCDC (software that usually comes with the module). You will probably have to get one:
