Hi,

After 3.5 years of daily use, my GLK12232-25SM got almost unusable.
Half of the screen is unreadable. Please see the two pictures I am attaching.

I have feeling that the memory got corrupted, because, as you can see, the rectangles for each character are well defined and separated, but the content is all garbage.

Any ideas or suggestions what the problem could be?
Is it possible to reset / re-flash the controller?

Thanks for your question, and the accompanying photos, sorry to hear that you've lost half of your GLK12232-25-SM screen. There are a few different things that could be at fault here, including the controller you suspect.

First off, although unlikely given the description, you may have managed to corrupt the font in the unit. You can try to restore this by wiping the module file system and uploading new fonts and bitmaps using MOGD#.

Unfortunately, that's the only thing you'll be able to change from home. We can re-flash the memory here which may repair the problem, however, it is also likely that the screen itself may have given up. As the display is 3.5 years old, it is no longer covered under our one year warranty period, so either of these options would have to be done at your expense.

Hopefully, that new font can give your display a little life. Try it out, let me know how it goes.

I will give it a try. But first I need to find a computer that has serial port and runs Windows.
