Hello,

I'm new working with this kind of display. How can I send the commands showed in the manual? What I need to send? I'm using a Storm-Interface Keypad, 1000 Series, 16 keys. Should be work? I don't receive nothing when I press a key. I only use the display and the PC, I don't need a PIC, right? Sorry for my English, I speak Spanish.

Hi Comiko,

I understand you're having some trouble communicating to your new GLK24064-25-WB display and interfacing to a keypad input device.

First, you'll need some sort of control device, you can use a PIC, but your PC will work fine. If you haven't already, I would suggest downloading our MOGD# software tool in order to get more comfortable communicating to the device. From there, you can use any programming language you wish to communicate to your display.

Unfortunately, MOGD# does not support the keypad feature of your device, so I would recommend using uProject for testing the keypad functionality. Our displays support a passive style of keypad, meaning a device that just connects a row to a column electrically. It looks like the Storm-Interface units are an encoded matrix style, meaning they transmit a code when a key is pressed. As a result, I don't believe your Storm-Interface unit will work with your display. If you like, you can check out our own 16 button keypad available on our website.

Give that software a try, and feel free to post any further questions you may have.

Thanks,
~Troy

Hi Troy,

Thanks to you, your reply was very helpful. I'm having a new problem, I can't download the uproject software from your website. When I try, I finish with a 0 kb file (uproject.exe). It's posible download the uproject software from other webpage? I keep trying. Thanks again anyway.

Comiko.

Pd: Always sorry for my English.

Hi Comiko,

Sorry to hear you've had some trouble downloading our uProject software. Please note that it is an exe file, so some networks may block the download. You can try downloading from a non-networked computer, or just send me a PM with your email address, and I'll send you a zipped copy.
