Power on via remote

I know this is not standard but it would be cool to use the MCE remote to start the PC (from full power off). I had a little IR programmable board that interfaced with the power on pins on the motherboard that I used in my last media center PC. It worked pretty well.
I decided not to use it this go round and find a better solution.
It would be neat if the GX would send a wake on USB signal somehow.

Firmware rev2 should support this, I'll add you to the beta pool so you can access it.

Can I get added to the beta? I'm running Vista 64 Home Premium and I'm having a lot of the same problems.

Good evening all.
I was wondering (I'm in the shopping phase for a vfd/lcd display to complete my HTPC project) if the remote will turn on the computer, and if it will restart the computer. I've read the post and it states that firmware rev2 should support this, but I want to be sure that it does. My wife has been somewhat supportive of my HTPC build (42" LCD, AMD x4 B.E. 4 Gb memory, Vista Ultimate etc.) but I need to know for sure that this will at least turn on the computer or else she'll kill me.
Thanks in advance and hope to be a new Matrix Orbital customer.

You should have no problems using the remote to turn on/off the computer.

Thanks for the reply Ray. I will be buying a GX very soon. I know this is not the right fourm, but is there any screen shots of the unit? Or any downloads of other users images? I have seen some screen shots, one of the quad core cpu screen
