I bought a BLK202A-4BR about a month ago from MO. I got it to work fine except the startup screen. I used the supplied "startup.exe" program to program the LCD. All the characters come out fine except the first character on the first line. The first "character" is just a blob of pixels, no matter when I program into it. Is there any other application I can use to try to program the LCD? Or does this sound like a hardware problem? I wonder if this is a problem with the non-volatile memory used to store the startup screen as the display works perfectly fine after the (corrupted) startup screen is displayed, ie other characters sent to that position on the fly display fine. Any ideas?

Sounds like the CursorBlock is on, you need to turn it off and save that to memory too
