Display not found

Hello,
I just purchased a eGTT50A-TPC-BLM-B0-H1-CS-V5. I have it connected via a Prolific USB to Serial COM Port, which enumerates as COM5.
I installed GTT Designer, 1.13.0.10242, along with GTT Support tool. The Support tool connects to the display fine. I can do rudimentary things with it like clear screen, draw lines, circles, & boxes... But, when I stop the Support tool, and run GTT Designer, pick GTT50A (no eGTT available), and try to "Detect Display", it just shows "No Display Found!".
If I proceed with a new project, it just shows "Connection: Disconnected" at the bottom, and I am not able to really do anything with the tool.
Any ideas what I should do next? Note that I am NOT trying to run GTT Designer and the Support Tool at the same time.
