My attempts to upgrade the firmware on my EGLK19264A-7T-FGW-VPT-PL from 8.5 to 8.6 using the application failed due to the PC unintentionally going into sleep mode during the process.

Power cycle will not restart the unit, it shows "Bootloader V1.0.5". When trying t send commands to it, the screen will flicker briefly.

Is there a solution to salvage this unit?

If you please try this:
From command line, run MatrixOrbitalFWU.exe with "RecoveryMode" as an argument.

I am glad to say that your recommendation worked.

I had to try a second and better quality USB-to-RS232 I/F as the old Targus hub I used was not able to do the job.
