Read the manual, follow the reset procedure then try the display again...

The baud rate was already at what I wanted it but I did the reset procedure anyways and it still won't upload anything to the module.

You're using a fixed 19200 baud?

Yes, it's on 19200 and the software is set to 19200.

the reset "feature" leaves much to be desired. all it does it reset the communication speed, it does not reset anything else. it would be nice if there was a way to reset EVERYTHING back to factory settings and clear out the memory...

Has the LCD screen been tested with Windows XP Pro? Right now I'm using a 6ft serial cable from Radio Shack and an external power supply that I made. The power works just fine. It can communicate to the screen but it seems that everything that involves the EEPROM just doesn't work.

Hello...

Using our mogd.exe program that is provided for you via the website or CDROM, after performing the manual override, wipe the file module system and try reloading your bitmap.

Wiping the file system doesn't seem to work because the default bitmap is still there. I tried uploading afterwards anyways but it still doesn't work.

Also (just to make sure this wouldn't cause a problem), I have no ground hooked up to the serial cable (although I've tried and have had the same problems) and I have both the grounds on the power connectors plugged in.

i know exactly what problem you are having, i have had the same problems with both my GLK devices. try switching COM ports on your computer, try again, then switching back. i just kept hammering the line with "Clear Display" codes from MOGD and then i got really frustrated and started turning on and off the power like mad. the display garbled up after that and it would respond to the Backlight ON/OFF comand and contrast, so i wiped the file system, reloaded the fonts, and reloaded my bitmaps and it worked.

"try switching COM ports on your computer, try again, then switching back."

What exactly do you mean by that? I only have 1 serial port. I tried all that other stuff, but it didn't work (it was fun though ).

How long were you spamming the Clear command. I just held enter down for about 10 secs and nothing.
