display garbage on windows startup

when windows 2000 starts up i get this on my BLK202A-WB-BK:

that's with no lcd software starting at bootup.
anyone else get this? this just crap windows is trying to init the com port with maybe?
just curious... doesn't seem to be harming anything

Have you got a UPS configured or software? may be scouting fo UPS or it's just junk that's being sent by windows for some reason.

When Windows loads it sometimes probes the ports, like Mat said, looking for stuff like a UPS... nothing we can do about that
