I'd like to get one of the new USB 2-line LCDs to fit in a 5-1/4" bay with a pair of USB ports. I can salvage the ports from an Antec EasyUSB front panel - normally, this panel converts a 5-1/4" bay into a 3-1/2" bay with two ports on the side. Looking over the measurements of the LCD, I don't think it will quite fit into the area to the side of the USB ports, but I can cut another bezel to accomodate it. USB ports are 5/8" wide, and there will naturally need to be a little clearance between the ports and the display.
So, my question is, do you think the ports will fit next to the display and still occupy one 5-1/4" bay? Has anybody done a mod like this before, and if so, can you direct me to any examples? I'm not particularly skilled with a Dremel, so if by some miracle somebody has already made one of these, I'd be interested in having an experienced person do it for a reasonable price. If it's doable at all, of course.
