**** PROBLEM FIXED *****
Sorted out the problem, heres the answer incase anyone else gets the same.
It was down to my NF7 motherboard, it always sendings power to the usb ports even when the PC is powered off, so power was going to the MX222 all the time, not enough to totally power it, but enough ...

Ive just had a MX222 which im very very pleased with.
Just a quick question, when my machine logs off windows xp and powers down, the MX222 display is still very slightly lit, and i can see the last message which was displayed if i look hard enough.
