Ive just had a MX222 which im very very pleased with.
Just a quick question, when my machine logs off windows xp and powers down, the MX222 display is still very slightly lit, and i can see the last message which was displayed if i look hard enough.
If I remove the power cable from the machine, the display completley shuts down and goes black.
I take it that the mx222 is receiving power from the usb port even when the machine is powered off, but a power cable connected?.
My main question is, is it normal and ok for the display to be slightly lit when the pc is powered off?, or do you get a burn in effect like on a monitor??.. I dont want to unplug my power cable everytime i switch off the pc!
MX222 display when powered off ??
Thanks for dropping by the forums, so your concern is when you shut off your system, the last display message from LCDC is still shown on the unit? My first question is, what revsion of the display do you have? There should be a revision number on the back. From the sounds of it, I would guess Rev 1.0?

The message is only displayed very dimm, the backlight itself switches off, but i think there is still some power being given to the display via the usb port
Like i say if i remove the power cable from the pc, or switch off the power supply, it shuts the lcd down completely and the screen goes completely black, this also happens if i remove the usb cable, so there is some power still being sent to the unit when the pc is powered down.
just want to make sure this is ok?? and its not either
a) going to burn out my display
b) burn the last message into the display
** update **
Ive worked out that even when my computer has powered down, there is still power going to all the usb ports??, dont know if this is normal or not and what harm it can do to the display?, my motherboard is a abit nf7

**** PROBLEM FIXED *****
Sorted out the problem, heres the answer incase anyone else gets the same.
It was down to my NF7 motherboard, it always sendings power to the usb ports even when the PC is powered off, so power was going to the MX222 all the time, not enough to totally power it, but enough to get the display alive.
Anyway, there is a jumper on the motherboard next to the usb/lan ports (not mentioned in the manual) .. move this jumper to 1-2, this will disable power to the two onboard external usb ports only when the PC is powered off, i made sure the MX222 was plugged into one of these ports and bingo, when i power down the PC it totally powers down the MX222.
The internal USB ports and any additional PCI usb ports are still powered, so dont use these.
Hope this helps someone in the future, its taken my 5hrs today to track down this problem.
