anyway, i've gotten the unit to work already. i removed the floppy power connector (what's it called anyway? lol) from the lcd and it worked great thereafter.

i've tried everything already; uninstall in device manager, switch usb ports, etc.

i once got it to work when i plugged in the small floppy power connector onto it and booted. it was detected properly by xp, but then after i rebooted, it reverted into an "unknown device" yet again, with or without ...
