So, here's my thought.
Going to try one other thing to see if I can get the display to work, which I don't think it will. So, I'm going to RMA both displays.

Can you give me an idea of how I can hook the unit up without killing it.

TO review. This is what I want to connect.

0.70A is = to 700mA is this correct.

Found out the max current draw for the water pump I had on the fan header, and fond someone who tested it, and found 0.70 was the MAX draw. Avg was 0.67A

If that is true, then it would under the 1000mA rating.

I really really want to get this to work ...

Ok, so now it's not even being recognized by Windows. Did a search and found a few forums posts I'll try. Hopefully that will work.

Other than that, I can't think of what happened. It was working perfectly hooked up to my laptop, then what dead getting hooked up to the desktop.

Could I have ...

I used the power directly from power supply.

my biggest problem at this point is I used this to run my water pump, and I don't think I have any other power points to connect it to. So, I'd be unable to even keep the computer running long enough to load new drivers.

I'll see what I can rig up.

I think I killed it.....

Hooked it up to desktop. Got welcome screen. Installed drivers. Screen went blank. No backlight or test, as I can tell.

Went to restart computer, now fans start up, and stop a few seconds after.
No welcome screen, or anything. Disconnected temp probes, nothing.

Took it ...

I just bought another from crazyPC.com

No biggy though.

But I did notice one thing. With the "old" or first LCD, there was no screen protector, which leads me to believe it may have been a return. But, it still had the matrix orbital tape on the box. The one I picked up today, had a screen ...

Joe,

I apologize for any misunderstanding, but I wanted to check how the unit reacts when you hae floppy power connected before you connect the usb cable.

Were you ever able to load the drivers properly?

Do you have any conflicting drivers installed?

No Problem, I'll try and let you know ...

Ok, now you've completely lost me.

Maybe I have this wrong.

I have the MX412, with the 4 line display, and keypad.

I have, from my PSU, a 4 pin molex connector, connected to a Molex to Floppy connector, connected to the back of the unit, just under the Fan, and temp connections.

I have an ...

I bought this approx 1 week ago.

And, by unmoddified, do you mean directly off the PSU, or can it be a 4pin to floppy connector? Would that make a difference, if it is the problem. I know you guys stress, unmoddified, but I had always assumed, modded, as in something non standard.

Arrggghhhhh!
So, I've searched all over and tried everything "I" can think of.

now, I get the "unable to open com port" error.

Tried a few things I've seen listed here, uninstalled everything, nothing.
Uninvalled, and deleted registry entries... nothing.

Display has all pixels on....

hello,
Didn't find what I was looking for in a search.

My MX412 display has been not working since I pluged everything in. It just displays every pixel.
I have it connected via internal USB, and I've double checked the conenction, and it's correct. ASUS A8N-Premium board, Athlon X2 4800+
