I have 6 cold cathodes, 4 case fans, four lazer leds and two temp probes i wish to connect up. I am very interested to see an image or diagram of the connections that henry has on his Lian Li
I am a newbie at this so i'll have to go and look at the codes to control the fans and via temp etc, but can i connect and control all these devices foom one head unit?
Also can i use a 'two' wire temp probe taken from my origianl Lian Li temp bay insert? they are simple two wire probes. Its just that one of them has very thin lines that allow the probe to slip between the cpu pins and the socket to attach to the underside of the cpu. I noticed the probes supplied have wires too thick to do this, and they are three wire?

The MX2 uses dallas 1-wire probes, the probe from the case is not the same.

My PC
In my PAC at home I have a Lian Li PC61. The two front fans are connected to one fan header, the top and rear fan to the other two. I have placed temperature probes by the hard drives and by the top and rear fan. The fans are controlled based on those temperature probes. In my current system I have no CCFL. You could use a y-splitter and control 2 or 3 fans with one fan header (just make sure you don't go over the maximum power of the fan header)

One more question those dallas probes look bulky. At the moment one of my probes (v thin end wiring) runs between the cpu and socket (between the pins) and is fixed to the bottom of the CPU by heat prove tape thus giving the most accurate temps after calibration.
I guess this can't be done with the dallas type? if not where are you placing your CPU temp probe, or where would you suggest

I have had quite a few mobos and found that they all seem to read temps differently. The only way to accurately read cpu temp is via a properly calibrated external probe.FrankFuss wrote:You should be using your motherboard's temperature sensing capability for the CPU temperature. I am not familiar with AMD CPUs. Everything in life is a compromise. The temperature probes used by the MX2 are more accurate, but they will not fit in tight places. MotherBoard Monitor does allow you to adjust the temperature values returned from the motherboard if they need to be tweaked. I have had good luck with that setup, but I have a Pentium 4 and an Intel motherboard.
Ok, so i dont think i can combine the 3 fans and the 3 different coloured CCFLs on the GPOs, the ccfl inverters need O.6A each, so each colour had to have its own high power GPO, I just kept my rheobus for case fan control (shame as i wanted to totally stealth the front of my Lian li)
I can't get all the cathodes to switch on together, would thay be drawing too much current?
Do the LCDC commands allow me to switch on the cathodes with a keyboard shortcut rather than keypad (which i havent got)??
