Connecting Cold Cathode to MX2

Post by DJJ123 »

I have a cold cathode tube and would like to connect this to a fan connector on my MX2 via a 4-to-3-pin adaptor so that I can control its brightness. I read somewhere on lcdforums that it is possible to connect a cold cathode tube to an LCD display, but the article wasn't very detailed, so I was wondering if my suggestion is safe without damaging the MX2. Any help would be appreciated.

It should be ok to connect your cold cathode tube to the high power gpo. Make sure the cold cathode tube does not exceed the GPO's maximum power output which is 12V and 1amp. You will also need to connect the unmodified floppy cable too. Check your the specifications of your cold cathode tube before you plug it in.

Best Regards, :D
