Hi a newbie here, I was am in need of help I think ive busted my new mx5.
I was messing with the temp probes, then suddenly nothing can I assume i have killed the screen ? I seem to have my fan still working but I fear ive shorted the display I dont get any information and my USB has failed...
Sorry for the little delay.
I was trying to test a temp prob as I removed it to place it into a lower point the screen went down, never to come up again...
The com port refuses to be Identified.(com3). Tried most things I can think of to reinstall even swapped the USB cable but no result
Havent given up I went to the next option in the tool bag...
Re-installed XP Pro... after a couple of attempt's the USB was detected and now im back into the MX5 ?? Ive changed over to the internal USB so far so good Driver v1.05. Im going to keep my hands in my pockets for a few days and not do anything but watch the display..
Gosh gone again... It keeps dropping out of XP ive down loaded the tester programme and noticed on the back it refers to ? LK204-24-USB, AND THE STICKER over a chip just north of the keypad extension refer's to V1.2 thought I had a VFD MX522 ???. Anyway I didnt touch anything this time I was just into loading the tester and its gone again..
The sticker on the display on the back is the firmware version. The board will say LK204-24-USB because they are both similar boards, except the VFD will have a few less components.
Yep just did that and its back again but only after a couple of restart's did it finally find the USB Im running ver 1.05 at present of LCDC. The tester works fine but asks for a serial no ? then says make sure LCD supports the read serial no command where is that...
I recommend using uproject instead of LCD tester. Uproject should be included in the ecd that came with your display. If you cannot find it, email me at support@matrixorbital.com, and I will send you a copy.
